Since being admitted to the bar in 1999, Mr. Fowler has focused on three major practice areas: Labor Law; Criminal Law; and Civil & Administrative Law for employment and law enforcement related cases. Since founding the Fowler Law Firm in 2004, and opening the Firm’s office in 2005, these three main practice areas have not changed.
The Firm has provided legal representation for almost a dozen independent labor groups of law enforcement, ranging in size from 130 members in the Wright County Deputies Association (since 2008), to as small as 8 members in the Glencoe Federation of Police (since 2004). The Firm handles all stages of these labor group’s legal representation- the initial Internal Investigative statements; processing grievances through the steps; grievance arbitration; contract negotiations; contract mediation; and arbitration. Even in tough economic times, the Firm continues to receive successful arbitration awards for its members, for example see the recent award in City of Hopkins vs Hopkins Police Officers Association.
Currently, the Firm provides legal services for approximately 1,000 members in the MN FOP’s Legal Defense Plan. Also, Fowler Law Firm has become Fowler Ditsch and welcomes Joseph Ditsch as partner with the firm. Fowler Ditsch continues to provide Public Employee representation primarily as general counsel for the Minnesota Public Employees Association and to five independent labor unions, and one private sector employee union.
